Janine Pineo

Janine Pineo is a freelance Maine journalist. While a student in the journalism department at the University of Maine at Orono, she studied broadcast journalism and served as news director of the campus radio station. Janine pursued work in print media at the same time, working first as an intern at the Bangor Daily News before being hired as a copy editor. During her more than 25 years at the BDN, she was also copy desk chief and worked in the IT department. In addition to occasional articles and reviews, Janine wrote a monthly gardening column for almost 20 years.
